Approved Training Partner myth busters

Our new portfolio of CQI and IRCA Certified Training courses offer an exciting new opportunity to organisations who wish to provide relevant, valuable training to a growing and ambitious workforce.

To give you a better understanding of what this means, we’ve provided five common misconceptions regarding the new Approved Training Partner model:

1. “There will now be an exam for Internal Auditor Courses.”

Nothing technical regarding the IRCA courses will change. There will be no requirement for an Internal Auditor course to be examined.

2. “The IRCA brand is disappearing and therefore certification will not mean as much.”

The CQI have re-branded to the CQI & IRCA, bringing the two brands and the quality and auditing profession closer together. IRCA is here to stay and will not disappear. In 2017 the intention is to further develop the IRCA portfolio with a range of new courses.

3. “The new 2017 Levy Return process is now far more complicated.”

An ATP is asked to submit an excel file with a small amount of delegate information at the end of each course they deliver. A Unique Identification Number (UDN) is created for each individual delegate, and an ATP and the CQI use this UDN to identify each delegate. Invoicing will be done monthly, based on the delegate information submitted and the process itself is extremely straightforward.

4. “The CQI & IRCA want me to hand over delegate data so they can market all sorts of things to my customers.”

The CQI have changed the way in which assurance activities are carried out. Part of this is to review delegate feedback and delegate details. Delegates will not be contacted unless they have ‘opted-in’ to receive further communications from the CQI and will only be contacted about CQI products and services. Delegates will never receive anything from a third party.

5. “The new Quality courses don’t mean as much as the traditional Diploma and Certificate.”

The new quality courses are modular in design and cover a whole range of quality topics. They offer a learning solution to delegates who have identified a skill or competency gap and require training to develop that skill or competency. These courses have been tested and verified by employers worldwide and the structure and content of the courses reflect the requirements of the modern quality professional.
